FOOD PRINTS Linocut/ Blockprinting Art Workshops in August
August is dedicated to all foodies! Last year, the participants had so much fun carving, kopi, sushi and wine. This time round, I invite you to come and make delicious, delightful food, drinks and ingredients prints by carving your own stamps and use them to create endless supply of cards and gift ideas (tea towels, placemats, cushion covers etc). Get acquainted with this popular printmaking technique, used by artists such as Pablo Picasso and Henri Matisse.
Linocutting Workshop Programme & Learning Objectives:
We will have fun illustrating your choice of food subjects and turn them into designs for the stamps
Learn how to draw and transfer the images on to the rubber blocks
Learn the basics of Linocutting art technique; how to carve safely and effectively
Practise on rubber blocks after seeing my step-by-step demo and tips
Printing with ink pads and blockprinting ink with the traditional brayer/ roller method
Participants will bring back their handcarved food stamps, art cards, and 1 tea towel or placemat
All tools, art materials, tea/coffee and teatime treats are included
Suitable for ages 12 and up
Date/ time: 11 or 18 August 2024, 2pm to 5pm
Venue: Eat To Draw home studio, Pasir Ris
Fee: $110 per person / 3 hours (Min 2 pax to start class)
