Eat To Draw

I am always seeking inspiration through my travels. As a multi-disciplinary artist, I am curious about traditional and modern art forms. Check out some of my travel-inspired works.

Travel Back In Time

I was inspired to paint this nostalgic scenery of the former Golden Palace Holiday Resort which is now the fishing farm at Pasir Ris. This is a key highlight of the heritage trail in Pasir Ris and was mentioned in the mini documentary I hosted for the Singapore Heritage Festival 2020. I interviewed my father who had visited the resort in his younger days and he recounted what it was like then. You can watch the documentary here.

Praiano

La casa di mio maestro Michele… this A5 painting in watercolours and gouache is a record of the quirky blue and white house of my ceramic teacher Michele. He is a big fan of Napoli football team that’s why he has created this mega shrine as a tribute. I painted this after spending more than two weeks as an apprenticeship with Bob Art in the spring of 2019. Grazie!

To Market In Laos

My favourite place at any town or city is the market and it’s no surprise, I found myself at the morning market of Luang Prabang almost every day. I love the charm, slowness, and intimacy of these markets where vendors ply what they grow or forage. At this Laotian market, you can find many varieties of sticky rice, mushrooms in season, big catfish, fresh honeycombs, buffalo fat, bamboo rats and other wildlife.
